“we are excited about the opportunity to provide a quality education that includes all of the traditional subjects, in addition to unique areas of instructions that will help your child(ren) excel.”
- Juanita Walker
Founder and Owner
Sheyes of Miami was established in 1988 as a learning center in Liberty City (6043 NW 6th Ct, Miami, FL) run by the company’s owner, Juanita Walker. Over the next thirty years, she opened two more learning centers at our Model City location (4801 NW 7th Ave, Miami, FL) in 2008, and our Brownsville location (3038 NW 48th Terrace, Miami, FL) in 2011. In early August 2011, Sheyes of Miami Learning Centers became Apple Accredited Facilities. This rating, as determined by Florida’s Gold Seal Quality programs, serves as an indicator of the quality of our facility in offering children’s education. Eventually the needs of Sheyes of Miami outgrew the three learning centers and we opened our private elementary school that serves Kindergarten through Fifth Grade students at our Brownsville location (3038 NW 48th Terrace, Miami, FL) to better serve the needs of our community in 2012. Sheyes of Miami has over 30 years of experience providing quality childcare to families in the Miami-Dade community.
Sheyes of Miami’s mission is to provide affordable learning centers and elementary school services to diverse families within the Miami-Dade community. We are committed to assisting our families and students by showing our dedication and devotion in shaping their lives. We provide a wide range of age-appropriate learning opportunities for children. Our Services will help our children develop and grow intellectually, socially, and emotionally, while also learning the physical skills necessary for day-to-day life, and life experiences.
Sheyes of Miami is dedicated to providing a warm and loving family environment for children. While our smaller classroom sizes, we are able to give quality, individualized care to families at affordable prices, and we also offer various discounts and vouchers to help with the overall cost of care. For a child with special needs, we work to provide the best care possible, while helping the family explore all additional resources to enhance the child’s well-being. As we view the Centers as a family, the importance of family bonds cannot be understated; siblings are encouraged to interact with one another, and we want everyone involved - children, parents, and staff alike - to feel like they are part of our extended family. Children here are encouraged to be children; we do not believe they are small adults. The individual progress, growth, and development of every child is important to us. The environment at our Centers promotes learning while having fun during the process. Through a mixture of hands-on experiences, group activities, and individual play, our children develop the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical skills necessary for all aspects of life and growth.
Parent comments and suggestions are encouraged and are taken into serious consideration as we continually adapt to new challenges. The children are not the only ones who are engaged in the learning experience - all of our staff and parents also learn from the children.
As caregivers, we play an important role in the development of our children. Sheyes of Miami staff carefully develop lesson plans that will provide our children with firsthand experiences in an atmosphere of mutual respect, trust, and love. We believe nurturing and sustaining relationships with teachers and families will establish the foundation for our children development. Sheyes of Miami ensures a balance between individual and group play, quiet and active time, child and teacher-initiated activities both indoor and outdoor environments.
