About Us

Sheyes of Miami was established in 1988 as a learning center in Liberty City (6043 NW 6th Ct, Miami, FL) run by the company’s owner, Juanita Walker. Over the next thirty years, she opened two more learning centers, one at our Model City location (4801 NW 7th Ave, Miami, FL) in 2008, and the other at our Brownsville location (3038 NW 48th Terrace, Miami, FL) in 2011.

In early August 2011, Sheyes of Miami Learning Centers became Apple Accredited Facilities. This rating, is determined by Florida’s Gold Seal Quality programs & serves as an indicator of the quality of our facility in offering children’s education.

Eventually the needs of Sheyes of Miami Learning centers outgrew all three learning centers and we opened our own private elementary school that serves Kindergarten through Fifth Grade students at our Brownsville location (3038 NW 48th Terrace, Miami, FL) to better serve the needs of our community in 2012. Sheyes of Miami has over 30 years of experience providing quality childcare to families in the Miami-Dade community.

Learning Through Play

Programs

Preschool

We offer a program for infants starting at six weeks of age. We divide the infant rooms, so non-mobile and mobile infants may safely interact with other children of similar development. Based on the Addison-Wesley Active Learning Series program, the infant curriculum focuses on interactions between the child and caregiver. As their development permits, our caregivers offer infants various developmentally appropriate activities.

Before & After
School Care

The Before School program offers a safe, unstructured environment with an emphasis on recreation

and homework.
At Sheyes Of Miami Learning Centers, students receive

a morning snack,

homework assistance, and transportation to school. They are also able to enjoy additional outdoor activities like basketball and volleyball or the Media Center which offers a quiet area where they can access the internet with patrolling software that filters out inappropriate sites.

Summer Camp

Summer is even more fun at our Sheyes of Miami Learning Centers Summer Camp! Our summer camp is offered during local school systems’ summer vacation. Our program combines a full-day of supervised activities and recreation with occasional field trips. Our previous Summer Campers have enjoyed the following

Sheyes of Miami’s mission is to provide affordable learning centers and elementary school services to diverse families within the Miami-Dade community. We are committed to assisting our families and students by showing our dedication and devotion in shaping their lives. We provide a wide range of age-appropriate learning opportunities for children. Our services help our children develop intellectually, socially, and emotionally, while also learning the physical skills necessary for day-to-day life,

and life experiences.
